Mumbai Indians (MI), who have lost three successive matches, will face the similarly struggling Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in a day game. Mumbai Indians are currently the only team to not win a single match in this year's IPL.

Delhi Capitals beat Chennai Super Kings in Vizag after having lost their first two matches, but KKR at the same ground gave them a harsh check as DC went on to concede the second-highest team total in IPL history. DC are now ninth on the points table with an NRR below RCB owing to the 106-run loss to KKR.

Mumbai Indians, marred by off-field controversies, lost their first three games in succession. In their recent game against RR at the Wankhede Stadium, they were rattled to just 125/9 in their 20 overs, a target RR had no problem chasing.

With the two bottom teams facing each other in this clash, a lot remains at stake for both teams.

Wankhede Stadium Pitch Report:

Wankhede Stadium has always been known to give the flattest of pitches that result in very high scores, especially since last year. Even though MI could only manage 125 in the last game, there do not seem to be any indications on whether the pitch has actually slowed down.

MI vs DC Strategies & Match-ups:

At the Wankhede Stadium, chasing is always a best bet. The batting-friendly surface provides the perfect platform for power-packed batting lineups like the ones these two possess to chase down very high totals as MI successfully showed last year executing chases above 200 more than once. The important matchups for this contest are: Khaleel Ahmed vs Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah vs David Warner, and Anrich Nortje vs Ishan Kishan.

Player Battles to Watch Out For:

Jasprit Bumrah vs Rishabh Pant:

Across 13 innings, Bumrah has bowled 43 balls to the Capitals skipper and has had his number a whopping six times. In these 43 balls with six dismissals, Pant has scored only 48 runs. With Pant being one of the only things going right for DC's batting, this matchup might just dictate the game.

Rohit Sharma vs Ishant Sharma:

In ten innings, Ishant has bowled 40 balls to his namesake and dismissed him three times. Rohit Sharma in these 40 balls, has scored 48 runs at an average of 16 and strike rate of just 120. This might just be the way that DC need to use to shut down India's all-format captain.

X-Factors for MI vs DC:

Mumbai Indians:

Suryakumar Yadav has missed MI's first three matches but has joined the team and is expected to play. And once he starts, he might just be the one wheel that could get MI back on track.

Delhi Capitals:

Over their four matches, Delhi's batting has been blowing hot and cold, but Rishabh Pant has shown consistency. Coming off two consecutive fifties and having hit form when the team needs it the most, he will be important to DC's chances.
