With the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 rapidly approaching its end, the stage for the summit clash has been set as Chennai Super Kings take on Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 final. Led by MS Dhoni, Chennai have made it to their 10th IPL final, and undoubtedly, the legendary skipper has had a big role to play in the side’s success over the years.

Becoming the most expensive buy at the IPL 2008 auction, Dhoni was roped in by Chennai Super Kings for US $1.5 million. Ever since then, he has been influential for Chennai, winning them four IPL titles in the process.

With 180 runs, Dhoni is the fifth-leading run scorer in the IPL finals as well. Furthermore, he also tops the list of most runs scored as a skipper in IPL finals. Apart from his skills with the bat, Dhoni’s repertoire behind the stumps is second to none as well, as he has the most catches by a wicketkeeper in IPL finals.

Holding several records, Dhoni’s legacy in the IPL has been unmatched. Playing in his 11th final against Gujarat on May 28. It could be interesting to see if Dhoni can lead Chennai to their fifth IPL title.
