Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 hasn’t begun well for two former champions as they set to face each other on Wednesday. Sunrisers Hyderabad will host Mumbai Indians in a huge clash in their first home game of the season. Hardik Pandya will be under pressure to avoid yet another reversal after losing the opening game of the season against Gujarat Titans.

Rohit Sharma was at his best with the bat as he gave the MI team a great start. Young Dewald Brevis took the attack to the opposition to show his growing stature in the game. Naman Dhir made an amazing start to his IPL career as did Tilak Varma towards the latter stages of the chase.

Jasprit Bumrah led the bowling unit well but the other bowlers seemed rusty. The spin duo of Piyush Chawla and Shams Mulani bowled a total of 6 overs and gave away 65 runs and picked up just 1 wicket. Even skipper Hardik Pandya and Tim David failed to fire with the bat in a crucial game.

Here’s a closer look at MI’s IPL Stats and Records against SRH in IPL history

8th Highest team total in IPL history

The 235/9 posted by Mumbai Indians during the IPL 2021 season is the 8th highest team total. In fact this is the only time Mumbai Indians feature in the top ten of this list which has RCB featuring thrice.

Joint 4th fastest IPL fifty by a batter

Ishan Kishan’s half-century during the famous IPL 2021 game against SRH came off just 16 balls. With this whirlwind knock the young left-handed batter registered the 4th fastest 50 in IPL history.
