Sensational batting from Kushal Malla (137* off 50) and Dipendra Singh Airee (52 off 10) helped Nepal post a mammoth total of 314/3. A clinical bowling display then bowled out Mongolia for 41, giving Nepal a record-breaking victory in the 1st T20I match of the Asian Games Men's Cricket Competition 2023
Mongolia won the toss and decided to field first. Davaasuren Jamyansuren struck early, dismissing Aasif Sheikh and soon Kushal Bhurtel, leaving Nepal at 66/2. Kushal Malla and Rohit Paudel put together a 193-run partnership for the third wicket. Rohit Paudel smashed a fifty before being dismissed by Mungun Altankhuyag.
Kushal Malla remained unbeaten on a maiden century, and a disastrous innings from Dipendra Singh Airee (52 of 10) helped Nepal post a mammoth total of 314/3 in 20 overs. In response to Nepal's 314, no other batter apart from Davaasuren Jamyansuren could cross single digits, and Mongolia were bowled out for 41, losing by a huge margin of 273 runs
