ODI World Cup 2023, Final, IND vs AUS Stats Review: Head's power-hitting ton, Labuschagne's brilliance, Starc's feat and other stats

In a dominant performance in Ahmedabad, Australia won their sixth title by six wickets against one of the best teams of the tournament, India, in the final match of the World Cup. The victory was powered by a brilliant bowling performance from Mitchell Starc, who took crucial wickets, supported by a very good spell from Pat Cummins. In the batting department, Travis Head scored a century, and Marnus Labuschagne added a slow-steady half-century, helping to seal the match by six wickets.

Speaking about the final game, the Kangaroos' captain won the toss and elected to bowl first. Rohit provided a good start, but in the fifth over, Gill lost his wicket to Starc for the third time in a total of four innings. After that, Rohit was in the mood again, dealing with boundaries, but Maxwell dismissed Rohit on 47. Shreyas Iyer departed early for just four. Following that, Kohli and Rahul built a slow but solid partnership of 67 runs. Pat Cummins bowled out Kohli for 54 runs. Jadeja also fell quickly, scoring only nine runs. Starc returned to pick up Rahul's wicket, and Rahul departed after scoring 66 runs. In the last, Surya scored 18 runs, contributing to a good total of 240 runs. In bowling, Starc took three wickets, and Hazlewood and Cummins picked up two wickets each.

In Australia's batting, they also lost three wickets at 47 runs. Shami provided the first breakthrough, dismissing Warner for only seven runs. Then Bumrah struck, picking up two wickets of Marsh and Smith, who scored 15 runs and four runs, respectively. After that, Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne built a very big partnership of 192 runs, establishing the winning cause for Australia. In the end, Maxwell hit the winning shot and ran two.  For his outstanding hundred in the final, Travis Head won the Player of the Match award.

In the Men in Blue team, all the players gave their best in this tournament from Rohit to Kohli to Shami, including every one of the 15 members of the team, along with support staff and coaching staff. One bad day did not change their dedication and hard work throughout the process from the first league match to the semi-final, winning 10 out of 10 matches. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma broke many records in this tournament. For his outstanding performance throughout the tournament, almost in every match, Virat Kohli won the Player of the Tournament award.
