The high-octane eighth edition of Pakistan Super League came to an end with Lahore Qalandars being crowned the champions for the second consecutive time. Interestingly, the Qalandars became the first team to defend a title in the history of the PSL. 

Multan Sultans lost consecutive finals against the same opposition as all-round performance from Skipper Shaheen Afridi (unbeaten 44 off 15 and four wickets) outclassed Rizwan & Co. by the barest of margin in one of the most high-voltage finals.

Top Performers:

Multan Skipper Mohammad Rizwan topped the batting chart with 550 runs at a staggering average of 55 in 12 innings, followed by Babar Azam, who scored 522 runs at an average of 52.20 in 11 innings. South Africa batter Rilee Rossouw finished third, with 453 runs at an average of 45.30. In the bowling department, Abbas Afridi finished at the top with 23 wickets, followed by Ihansullah (22 wickets) and Rashid Khan (20 wickets).

1 - Lahore Qalandars became the first team to defend a title in PSL history.

2 - Lahore Qalandar now have two titles, which is the joint-most for any team in PSL, with Islamabad United.

76 - Lahore Qalandars scored a total of 76 against Multan Sultans in Qualifier match, the second-lowest for them in PSL and fourth-lowest overall in PSL.

1 - Babar became the fastest batter to score 9000 runs in T20. He took 245 innings, surpassing Chris Gayle’s tally of 249.

2 - Babar registered his 8th century, which is the second-most for any batter in T20s. Chris Gayle tops the list with 22.

36 - Usman Khan smashed the fastest hundred of PSL and broke Rilee Rossouw’s record of 41-ball hundred, recorded against Peshawar Zalmi in the previous PSL game.

1 - Jason Roy smashed 145* (63) against Peshawar Zalmi, which is the highest individual score in PSL, surpassing Colin Ingram’s 127 against Quetta Gladiators.

1 – Multan Sultans scored 262 in 20 overs against Quetta Gladiators, which is the highest total in the history of PSL.
