One of the oldest cricket stadiums in India, the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, commonly known as the Chepauk Stadium, is the home ground of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The venue is set to host its sixth match of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Wednesday, May 1.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Co. will be up against Punjab Kings (PBKS), in what could be a riveting battle as both teams are vying for a spot in the playoffs. Both teams are coming on the back of remarkable wins and it remains to be seen if Punjab can topple the five-time champions on their home turf.

The two have met 28 times in IPL history and CSK has a slight edge with 15 wins against PBKS, who have won 13 times. However, in their last five meetings, it was 4-1 in Punjab's favour and they also tasted success in their previous visit to Chepauk in the 2023 season. But having annihilated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the same venue recently and currently sitting third on the points table, CSK will not be too bothered about the past.
