Defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) and five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will face each other for the third time in the all-important Qualifier 2 of IPL2023 at the World's Largest Stadium- the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, May 26th 2023.
Gujarat Titans will be coming into the contest, after being toppled by four-time champions Chennai Super Kings in the Qualifier-1 by 15 runs. Since they lost the match in Qualifier-1, GT have one more chance to cement their place in the finals. They lost their game due to very rare batting collapse, and Shubman Gill was the only batter to put up a decent performance as he scored 42 runs, while Rashid Khan, towards the end, scored a 16-ball 30 which helped them only to reduce the margin of defeat.
Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, will be heading into the game, after toppling the third placed Lucknow Super Giants by a massive 81-run margin in the Eliminator of IPL 2023. They registered their first win over LSG in IPL, eventually knocking them out of the contest. Akash Madhwal was the sole reason, as he registered his best bowling figures of 5/5 in 3.3 overs. Since they won the eliminator, they will need one more win to reach their seventh finals in IPL.
