Rajasthan Royals (RR) are set for their second home game of the season as they welcome the Delhi Capitals. The match is set to be played out at the Sawai Mansingh stadium in Jaipur on 28th March 2024. This encounter is set to be a thrilling one as both wicket-keeper captains are going to go head-to-head against each other once again.

Rajasthan Royals were dominant in their previous encounter against the Lucknow Super Giants as they won by a convincing margin. Their skipper was the leading run-scorer for them in that game and would be hoping to continue his good run at the team’s home ground in the upcoming game as well. The bowlers were also on the mark in their last game and would be hoping for a similar performance this time around.

It hasn’t been a happy start to the Indian Premier League 2024 for the Delhi Capitals as they faced defeat at the hands of Punjab Kings in Mullanpur. The return of Rishabh Pant after a long hiatus was their only joyous occasion on that day. The team management would be hopeful of a win against familiar opposition tomorrow at the Sawai Mansingh stadium in Jaipur.

These two teams have produced some of the most brilliant and enthralling clashes in the recent past and the fans would be hoping that trend continues as the franchises look to battle it out for the precious two points.

As mentioned before, the games between these two franchises have been epic, to say the least. They have faced each other on 27 occasions in the history of the IPL and some of the greatest players have been part of this rivalry.

Rajasthan Royals lead the head-to-head against Delhi Capitals with 14 wins from their 27 encounters. They have been on the winning side for the past two matches involving these two sides as well. The team management would be hoping that their run against their neighbours could continue in this season as well.

Delhi Capitals have been victorious only on 13 occasions against the Rajasthan Royals and would be hoping to level the score in their upcoming game. The Delhi-based franchise had a 4-game unbeaten run against the 2008 winners in 2019 and 2020 before they came back to win a close game in 2021.

Rajasthan Royals are known to score big whenever the surface helps the batters and the players do not shy away from playing the big shots. One of the team’s highest totals came against the Delhi Capitals as they scored a mighty 222 for the loss of just two wickets at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.

Jos Buttler was in sublime touch during that game as he scored an unbeaten knock of 116 runs as he took his side to a massive total of 222. There were some great contributions from opener Devdutt Padikkal as well as skipper Sanju Samson, which helped the side a lot later on in the encounter.

Delhi Capitals fought hard in the game but could not hunt down the target set by the Rajasthan Royals batters. In the end, Rajasthan Royals won the game against Delhi Capitals by a margin of 15 runs with Jos Buttler being named the Player of the Match for his epic innings in Mumbai that day.

The star Indian batter, Ajinkya Rahane, is known to be one of the greatest players to have played for the Rajasthan Royals. He was the first player in the history of the league to smash six fours in a single over of an innings. His legacy has always been one that youngsters look up to at the Rajasthan Royals.

The right-handed batter has played for both Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals in the league. But his performances for the 2008 champions have been far better than what he was able to do with the Delhi franchise. The former Team India vice-captain is therefore also the only batter to have scored more than 500 runs during matches between these two teams.

Rahane is currently playing a unique role for the Chennai Super Kings at the number three spot as he has taken the attacking approach which has surely yielded results for him and his side since last year.
