Rajasthan Royals' IPL Records and Stats against Gujarat Titans

Rajasthan Royals (RR) are gearing up for their fourth home match of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) and will be looking to make it five wins out of five. The inaugural champions are the only unbeaten team in the tournament so far and are likely to maintain the streak when they take on Gujarat Titans (GT) at their stronghold - Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur - on April 10.

Titans have won only two of their five matches so far. The Shubman Gill-led side have lost their last two matches and will look to get back on the winning track. They have good records against RR in the last two years but things are not going as planned for them at the moment. Notably, GT, under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, won the coveted title in their maiden IPL season in 2022.

Top Wicket-Takers for RR against GT

RR's key bowler Yuzvendra Chahal has taken the most wickets in their rivalry against Titans. With over 190 wickets, the veteran India spinner is the highest wicket-taker in the league history and four of those scalps came against GT. Chahal has an economy of 7.15 and an average of 35.50 against the Ahmedabad-based franchise. Second on this list is left-arm pacer Trent Boult, who took three wickets in four innings.

RR's highest total against GT in IPL history

Royals' highest team total against GT came in 2022, one of their most successful seasons. RR faced off GT in Qualifier 1 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Backed by Jos Buttler's 89, they managed to post 188 on the board. However, Titans crossed the finish line with a collective batting effort for the loss of three wickets.

RR's lowest total against GT in IPL history

RR registered their lowest total against GT in the 48^th match of IPL 2023. Batting first at their home ground, RR were bundled out for just 118 runs in 17.5 overs. In reply, Gujarat chased down the target in just 13.5 overs to grab a dominant nine-wicket win.

As mentioned above, Jos Buttler has scored 190 runs against GT, which is the fourth-highest overall score against the former champions. RR captain Sanju Samson is the fifth-highest run-getter in this category with 162 runs. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opener Ruturaj Gaikwad has scored the most runs against Titans – 350 runs in six innings. 

Second lowest total

Unfortunately, this is not a record RR can be proud of. The last time the two teams met (IPL 2023 league match), GT registered a thumping nine-wicket win. Batting first, RR were bowled out for just 118 runs, the second-lowest score by a team against Titans in IPL history.

Fourth lowest total (IPL 2022 final)

A similarly poor record and that came in an all-important clash. In 2022, Rajasthan reached the IPL final for the second time in history and they were up against Gujarat. Royals came out in search of their second title but had an awful first innings as they were bundled out for 130 runs. This is the fourth-lowest score by a team against GT.
