February 23 is a gruelling battle between two of the biggest arch-rivals in international cricket as India and Pakistan will go head-to-head at the Dubai International Stadium. There have been some iconic battles to look forward to in this epic clash in the Champions Trophy 2025.
This rivalry is also highlighted by some iconic players, with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma taking centre stage. While both legends didn't have the best starts to their campaign Rohit Sharma failed to convert a strong beginning into a big score and Kohli looked a bit rusty in the opening game against Bangladesh they’ve still delivered memorable performances against Pakistan in ODI cricket. Both have an impressive record in this format when facing their rivals.
The last ODI India played against Pakistan was in the 2023 ODI World Cup where India easily chased down a modest total of 192 at Ahmedabad courtesy India skipper playing an incredible knock of 86. Despite getting out on just 16 runs in the same match, Virat Kohli got out on just 16, he went on to finish as the leading run-getter and was the player of the series as well.

Though the number of games played against Pakistan has been limited due to the lack of bilateral series between the two teams the two stalwarts have an incredible record against the Green Shirts. Rohit Sharma in the 19 ODI games has scored 873 runs at an average of 51.35. He has smashed two centuries and eight half-centuries against them with a highest score of 140 which he scored in the 2019 ODI World Cup.
Virat Kohli has had considerable success against the neighbouring nation, amassing 678 runs in 16 matches at an average of 52.15, including three centuries and two half-centuries. His standout performance came in the 2012 Asia Cup, where he scored a brilliant 183 runs off 148 balls, leading India to successfully chase down a daunting target of 330. While both players may not be at their peak right now, Kohli and Rohit will still be key players to watch in the upcoming clash.
