Rohit Sharma has been one of the most popular batters in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The star batter has won a lot of matches for both Mumbai Indians and Deccan Chargers. In two IPL finals, Rohit has scored fifties. In 2020, he scored against Delhi Capitals. In the IPL 2015 final, Rohit scored a brisk fifty against CSK. As a skipper, Rohit is regarded as the best by many in the history of the league. The only arguable candidate in this regard is MS Dhoni.
In the ongoing season, Rohit has been in good form. In 7 innings, the 36-year-old has 197 runs at a batting average of 49.50, at a batting strike rate of 164.09, including a hundred to his name. In the last match against RR, the right-handed batter failed to put up a good performance. The MI opener was undone by Trent Boult in the very first ball of the match. The MI batter would be hoping to put on a better performance against RR in Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Cricket Stadium.
The intent from the right-handed batter has been on point. Given the fact that his performances in the T20 WC 2024 will be important, Rohit has been preparing accordingly. The right-handed batter will be key for the success of MI. The former MI captain has been in his best form in the IPL in a long time. As RR has some of the best bowlers in the league currently, it would be interesting to see how Sharma fares against them.
