Shikhar Dhawan, who celebrates his 37th birthday today (December 05), has achieved some unique feats over the years.
Shikhar Dhawan has been prolific while batting on top of the order. Alongside his destructive batting skills, he is also known for his dapper fashion sense, being one of the most stylish Indian cricketers. Dhawan started his international career by playing an ODI match in October 2010 and has been a regular figure in the team in the 50-over games.
After impressing the selectors in ODIs, Dhawan earned his T20I call-up in June 2011 in a game against West Indies at Port of Spain. He played his first Test match against Australia at Mohali on March 14, 2013, and grabbed the spotlight by scoring a magnificent ton on debut.
The Indian management has shown a great amount of trust in Shikhar Dhawan, and he has led the Indian side on several occasions in the past year in the absence of regular white-ball skippers. This year, he led India in nine ODIs, winning five games and losing just two, which includes a remarkable series win against West Indies and South Africa.

- In less than three years of his ODI debut, Dhawan got an opportunity to represent India at the 2013 Champions Trophy and played a major role in helping the Men in Blue win the tournament.
- Dhawan was adjudged the Player of the Series at the 2013 Champions Trophy as he ended his campaign scoring 363 runs in five matches at an average of 90.75.
- Shikhar Dhawan is the first player to score back-to-back centuries in the Indian Premier League. He achieved this feat in 2020 by scoring consecutive tons while representing the Delhi Capitals. He notched up a hundred against Chennai Suoer Kings and Followed it up with a century against Punjab Kings.
- Dhawan is the second-highest run-getter of the Indian Premier League, having scored 6244 runs across all editions that he has played in.
- He holds the record for scoring the fastest Test century as a debutant, having achieved the feat in mere 85 balls against Australia. He ended up scoring 187 runs off 174 deliveries in that innings while opening the batting for India.
- Dhawan registered the fastest century for India, before lunch, on Day 1 of a Test as he scored 104 runs before the break and ended up scoring 107(96) in the Test against Afghanistan in 2018.
- Shikhar Dhawan is one among the 16 Indian players to have scored a century on their Test debut.
- He is the only Indian player to have scored a century in his 100th ODI match, and one among the only ten players to have achieved this unique feat.
- Dhawan scored the most runs for India in the 2015 World Cup, and was the fifth-highest run scorer in the tournament, with 412 runs from eight matches.
- After the 2013 edition, Dhawan repeated his heroics at the Champions Trophy 2017 as he finished as the highest run-scorer with 338 runs from five games at an average of 67.60.
- Shikhar Dhawan is the only player to have bagged 2 consecutive golden bats at Champions Trophy.
- Dhawan has scored the most runs for India, 701, in the history of the Champions Trophy tournament.
