David Warner smashed 106 off 93, while Marnus Labuschagne registered his highest score of 124 as Australia defeated South Africa by a big margin of 123 runs in the second one-day international in Bloemfontein. Travis Head and Josh Inglis struck their respective half-centuries, while spinner Adam Zampa took figures of 4/48 as the visitors took a 2-0 lead in the series and are still unbeaten on tour.

Talking about how the match panned out, skipper Temba Bavuma won the toss and elected to field first. Warner and Head got the Aussies off to a flier as they added 109 runs for the opening wicket. The latter slammed 64 off just 36 before losing his wicket to Tabraiz Shamsi. Warner brought up his 20th century in ODIs before falling prey to Andile Phehlukwayo. Inglis scored 50 off 37 as the tourists posted a mammoth total of 392/8 on the board, their second-highest total against the Proteas after the famous 434/4 in Johannesburg in 2006.

Shamsi was the pick of the South African bowlers for his spell of 4/61 in ten overs. In reply, four Proteas batters got dismissed in the forties. Openers Quinton de Kock and Bavuma amassed 45 and 46 runs, respectively, while Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller scored 49 each. The target looked far away for the home side, with Zampa picking up wickets regularly. Sean Abbott, Nathan Ellis, and debutant Aaron Hardie picked up two wickets each as the hosts were bundled out for 269 in 41.5 overs. For his magnificent century (124 off 99), Labuschagne grabbed the Player of the Match award, his second in a row.
