Speedster Gerald Coetzee picked up figures of 3/32 while opening batter Reeza Henricks scored 49 off just 27 as South Africa beat India by five wickets (DLS Method) in the second T20 international at St George’s Park in Gqeberha. The series now moves to the decider that is scheduled to take place on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

Speaking in detail about the second T20I, the visitors batted first and posted a competitive total of 180/7 in 19.3 overs on the board before rain interrupted. Openers Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal bagged ducks while Tilak Varma scored 29. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh struck their respective half-centuries as India managed to surpass the 175-run mark.

The home side was then set a revised target of 152 in 15 overs. Opener Hendricks came out all guns blazing as he almost his fifty in no time. Skipper Aiden Markram played a cameo of 30 off 17 which included four fours and a maximum. In the end, the hosts reached their target comfortably with seven balls to spare.
