Match No. 18 of IPL 2024 will witness Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) hosting Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Friday, April 05. SRH have just one win in three matches, while the Super Kings have lost only one out of the three they've played thus far. However, both the teams are coming on the back of a loss, and thus, both the teams would be desperate to return to winning ways.

Against Gujarat Titans at Ahmedabad, SRH put up just 162 and looked like they were in the game for most of the chase until David Miller and Sai Sudharsan scored 25 in an over off Mayank Markande and put the chase to sleep.

CSK, after their first two games, were rattled by Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam after finishing at just 171 thanks to some late hitting by MS Dhoni while chasing 192.

SRH will once again play a home match after playing an away match, while CSK will be playing their second away match in a row after having played each of their first two games at home.

SRH vs CSK Strategies & Match-ups:

The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium is expected to roll out a full-fledged flat surface which the batters will enjoy. So the strategy is simple, the batters should create havoc, especially when batting first. The bowlers are not expected to have a very good day, and hence the onus falls on the batting to deliver performances that could boost the chance of winning.

The left-arm seamer has bowled just 13 balls to the CSK captain, in which he has scored 20 runs while being dismissed twice. T Natarajan has dismissed the CSK captain twice in two innings, so SRH will want to see this match up pan out into a three from three for Natarajan.

X-Factors for SRH vs CSK:

Sunrisers Hyderabad:

It is hard to miss the batting prowess contained all through SRH's batting line-up, but the man most in form and most dangerous Heinrich Klaasen is still a huge threat for any bowling line up and will be key on an especially flat surface.

Chennai Super Kings:

A more difficult decision, but one bad game cannot take away from the prowess contained within Rachin Ravindra and his ability to give consistent starts in the powerplay. The New Zealand all-rounder will again be the key in ensuring that CSK take control.
