Wanindu Hasaranga took 3/21 in his four-over spell while opener Pathum Nissanka smashed an unbeaten half-century to continue his impressive form as Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by five wickets in the final Super 4 round game ahead of the final. Shanaka and Rajapaksa played quickfire cameos of 21 and 24 respectively with Nissanka managing yet another fluent innings of 55* off 48. Mohammad Hasnain and Haris Rauf grabbed two wickets each but it wasn’t enough to avoid a defeat for their side. Sri Lanka registered a convincing win over their opponents in the final. For his match-winning spell, Hasaranga won the Player of the Match award. The summit clash takes place on Sunday, September 11, 2022, as both teams are set to battle it out for Asia’s title.
