Stats: Mayank Yadav becomes fourth Indian bowler to take wicket on first ball of T20I innings

In a 20-over game where a total of 461 runs were scored, it would be hard to get to terms with the fact that a lot of wickets would have fallen across the two innings. A statistic which might be a bit perplexing to digest would be a bowler picking up a wicket on the very first delivery of the innings. However, this was exactly what Delhi-born speedster, Mayank Yadav, managed to pull off during the third T20I between India and Bangladesh in Hyderabad.

Having been bestowed with the opportunity of bowling with the brand new ball after being brought on at a latter stage in the first two games, Mayank struck immediately. A rocketing short delivery caught Parvez Hossain Emon off guard, as all he could do was stick the bat in front of his face to avoid getting rattled. The only thing he managed to do was spoon an easy catch to Riyan Parag at first slip.

Mayank became just the fourth Indian bowler to pick up a wicket on the first delivery of the opposition's innings as far as T20Is are concerned. Let's have a look at the other bowlers to do so:

Mayank included as part of travelling reserves for Test series vs NZ

Following his impressive first few games in the international arena against Bangladesh where he racked up impressive speeds as well as was consistent on almost all occasions, Mayank earned his place as one of the four travelling reserves alongside Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Prasidh Krishna.
