Maharashtra opener Ruturaj Gaikwad wreaked havoc as he slammed a double century which included seven sixes in an over off the bowling of Uttar Pradesh’s spinner Shiva Singh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy quarter-final clash on Monday, November 28, 2022, in Ahmedabad. With this feat, the destructive opening batter became the first player ever to hit seven consecutive sixes in an over in the history of white-ball cricket.
Gaikwad’s side batted first and posted a mammoth total of 330/5 in their allotted 50 overs.
