Stats: Smriti Mandhana scripts record for most women's ODI hundreds in a year
The opening batter scored 105 off 109 with 14 fours and a six in Perth.
India batting sensation Smriti Mandhana achieved a phenomenal record after a brilliant knock in the third ODI against Australia Women in Perth. The opening batter scored 105 off 109 with 14 fours and a six before being castled by Ashleigh Gardner. However, her knock went in vain as the visitors lost the game to lose the series by a 3-0 margin.
The Aussies were caught off guard at the start of the innings as they were reduced for 78/4 at one stage, however, star all-rounders Annabel Sutherland smashed a century of her own (110 off 95) while Ashleigh Gardner (50 off 64) and skipper Tahlia McGrath (56 off 50) made sure that the team got a healthy total of 298. It eventually proved too much for India as they were bundled out for 215, with Australia winning by 83 runs.
