It turned to be a manic Saturday, April 20 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium as the Delhi Capitals batters were chasing a massive 267 to win in Match 35 of IPL 2024. Half-centuries from Travis Head and Shahbaz Ahmed meant that the visitors had posted a huge 266 runs on the board for the loss of seven wickets.
Prithvi Shaw began the show with four successive boundaries to signal the intentions of the home team. The best batter on the show was young Jake Fraser-McGurk who took the attack to the opposition with his blistering knock.
Washington Sundar was hit for 30 runs in the third over of the chase as the young Aussie raised hopes of an unlikely win. However, his innings was over for 65 runs from just 18 balls but that was enough to set a new record for his side.
