India will take on Australia in Match 51 of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Daren Sammy Stadium in St Lucia on June 24, Monday. India have been riding high on their two consecutive victories in as many games in the Super 8 stage. Australia were put down under by Afghanistan in their previous game and the upcoming game holds much significance to the Aussies as India have potentially secured their semi-final berth.

Mitchell Marsh termed the loss against Afghanistan as a one-off day for the team but the result has opened up Group 2 as the remaining teams have come alive. Australia’s batting woes were the glaring aspect of the game, where Afghan spinners held a tight grip on the game and pacer reaped rewards as batters became desperate. Travis Head and David Warner, who have scored 179 and 172 runs respectively in the league, were plucked out by Naveen Ul Haq in a jiffy.

On the other hand, India have had their fair share of woes as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have failed to capitalize on the powerplay. Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja’s form has been a point of concern and the team losing wickets in a bunch is a habit that should be let free. Jasprit Bumrah has been spitting fire and Arshdeep Singh is the leading wicket-taker of the team with 12 scalps to his name.
