Virat Kohli's IPL Records and Stats against Mumbai Indians
Virat Kohli has had a slow start in IPL 2025
3 Min Read

Virat Kohli is the highest run-scorer in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) . The ace cricketer is one of the few players to have played for just one franchise. Needless to say, for the same reason, the former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain has not been able to get his hands on the coveted title.
Kohli has been the backbone of the RCB batting unit for years and there is no deviation this time either. Meanwhile, the team has lost one and won two of their three games this season so far and occupy third spot in the points table. RCB are gearing up for their upcoming match against Mumbai Indians (MI) and once again their batting innings will be heavily dependent on Kohli.
Virat Kohli’s overall record against MI:
Total Matches Played: 33
Runs Scored: 855
Batting Average: 30.53
Batting Strike Rate: 126.85
100/50: 0/2
Best Score: 92
Memorable performance against Mumbai Indians
It is surprising that Virat Kohli’s best knock against MI ended in a losing cause. MI were asked to bat first and on the back of half-centuries from Evin Lewis and Rohit Sharma, they posted a score of 213/6. Chasing a massive target, RCB kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Kohli, who opened the innings, tried his best to get his team through but he didn't get any support from the other end. The right-hander finished with 92 off 62 - his best against MI.

Key Battle for Virat Kohli against Mumbai Indians
Jasprit Bumrah - A battle between two of the best players in their respective teams. If Kohli is RCB’s most reliable batter, Bumrah is the go-to-bowler of MI. The two share a fierce rivalry in the IPL. While Bumrah has dismissed Kohli five times, the latter has scored 140 runs off 95 balls (147.36 strike rate). Interestingly, Bumrah’s first-ever IPL wicket was Kohli, back in 2013.
