Six blockbuster encounters were played on Thursday, June 20, in the ongoing Vitality T20 Blast 2024 tournament. It was a day filled with South Group matches dominating the proceedings with four matches, while North Group saw two matches being played. 

In the game between Glamorgan and Gloucestershire, Josh Shaw hit a last-ball six to win the game for his team. It was a pulsating encounter as both sides traded blows in Cardiff. That win lifted Gloucestershire to fifth spot in the table with seven points from as many matches.

Surrey beat Middlesex by 56 runs thanks to Sean Abbott’s fifer to retain their top spot in the South Group table. Sussex moved to third in the table with 10 points from 7 matches after their easy 31-run win over Kent at home. The final game in the South Group saw Essex beat Hampshire by 8 wickets in a one-sided encounter.

Over in the North group, Warwickshire posted a massive 219/4 from their 20 overs in front of their home fans. Northamptonshire couldn’t bat well as they lost by a massive margin of 90 runs. In the other match in the North Group,

Yorkshire defeated arch-rivals Lancashire in the ‘battle of the roses’ game by 7 runs. Lancashire failed to chase down the 174-run target on the board but kept their place at the top of the table in the North Group despite the loss. Yorkshire are now placed fourth in the Vitality T20 Blast 2024 points table with 8 points from 7 matches.
