India and West Indies will play a five-match T20I series starting on August 3 at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad. The second and third matches will be played at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, and the fourth and fifth matches will be played at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida.
Also, India will play their 200th T20I match on August 3, 2023, against West Indies in the first match of the five-match series. This will be a historic occasion for the Indian team, as they will become the second team in the world to play 200 T20I matches.
India will be coming into the series on the back of a 1-0 Test series win and a 2-1 ODI series win against West Indies. They have recalled Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, and Ravi Bishnoi, and have included uncapped players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, and pacer Mukesh Kumar in the squad.
West Indies, on the other hand, will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing run in recent months. They failed to qualify for the ODI World Cup and then lost the Test and ODI series against India. However, they did win a 2-1 T20I series against South Africa earlier this year, so, they would be hoping to bring back momentum against India in T20Is. Nicholas Pooran will return to the T20I side after missing the ODI series due to T20 commitments. Other players to watch out for include Oshane Thomas, Shai Hope, and Shimron Hetmyer.
