The WPL 2025 has been a tournament filled with young and exciting players currently playing among the best in Women's international cricket. This also includes players who have been bought by the franchises after their great performances in the U-19 which was enough to buy them in the auction for this tournament.

The U19 Women's T20 World Cup was one of the platforms where people saw some young players give some great performances. One of the India Women U19 stars who made an appearance on Tuesday was G Kamalini who played for Mumbai Indians Women at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara against the Gujarat Giants Women. The Mumbai Indians Women had won the game and though Kamalini got only one delivery in the chase she made it count by cutting a short and wide delivery from Priya Mishra for a boundary to announce herself.

Apart from Kamalini, her teammate from the U19 T20 World Cup winning team last year VJ Joshitha also debuted this season for RCB Women. The right-arm pacer became the youngest bowler to represent RCB Women in WPL at the age of 18 years and 203 days.

Speaking of Kamalini's performance in the last T20 U19 Women's World Cup in 2024 she emerged as the second-highest run scorer for India and the third-highest run-scorer overall in the tournament with 143 runs in seven matches at an average of 35.75 and a strike rate of 104.37.
