The FaceApp is taking the cricketing world by storm thanks to netizens using the application to share the aged photos of the cricketers after the hullabaloo of the ICC World Cup 2019. The users of social media have been having fun by seeing how their favorite cricketers look like after a certain period of time and the app is making eerily correct predictions.

The Indian team was not spared as well, with Twitter being filled with images of MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Dinesh Karthik, Ravindra Jadeja, etc looked all wrinkly and perhaps what they would look a couple of decades later. Meanwhile, the app has generated lots of interest other than cricket as well and many photos of other celebs are being circulated for some harmless fun.

World Cup winners get aged with the FaceApp challenge

England won the ICC World Cup 2019 after a wait of 44 years and losing in the finals of 1979, 1987 and 1992 editions. The team had a big transformation post their 2015 World Cup debacle when they were knocked out of the tournament in league stages after being defeated by Bangladesh. This led to then ECB director Andrew Strauss and captain Eoin Morgan forming a unit filled with players who could play the limited-overs game as it should be.

That is why players like Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, and others were given longer rope and management backed Adil Rashid, Moeen Ali and other similar performers who were down on luck. A better-judged decision was to fast track Jofra Archer’s eligibility to play for England, which proved to be a massive plus point in their victorious campaign. Ben Stokes finally took on the responsibility of being the lynchpin of the England batting and led the team to the title.

The official Twitter account of the Cricket World Cup recently shared the images of the title-winning team’s players which were enhanced by using the FaceApp. The collage included Joe Root, Jofra Archer, Jonny Bairstow, and captain Eoin Morgan. The players looked amazingly aged and the account put up a caption saying, “That’s what a Super Over will do to you!”
