2. Sachin Tendulkar at Chennai/Sydney
The master blaster has had his own special affairs with multiple grounds all over the world. That’s the reason how he amassed 34,000 International runs across all formats. However, he has had a special affinity towards MA Chidambaram stadium and Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
Chennai
Chennai saw three of the most unbelievable Test innings he played- i.e against Australia, Pakistan and England. Two of them came in a winning cause. Against Pakistan, he single-handedly took the Indians to the brink of victory with his 136 back in 1999.
The Test match in Chennai against Australia is remembered for Sachin Tendulkar sweeping Shane Warne bowling around the wicket who aimed to utilise the footmarks. His 155 against Australia helped India win the match in the 1998 homes series.
He came back to play a Test match against England which is famous for India chasing down a target of 387, with Sachin being the architect of the run chase with his unbeaten innings of 103*
Sydney
Sachin Tendulkar’s special flings with the grounds weren’t limited to India only but also overseas in the SCG in Australia. He scored his maiden Test double century in Sydney during India’s famous 2004 tour with help of his monumental 241*.
One of the most famous ODI innings Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar played was against Australia during the finals of Commonwealth Bank Series of 2008 where he helped India take a lead of 1-0 in the first final with his unbeaten knock of 117*. Accidentally, it was the only ODI century for Sachin in Australia.
Sachin has a staggering average of 157 in the five tests he played at SCG which comprised of 3 centuries and 2 fifties. He has accumulated as many as 785 runs during his stay at the New South Welsh ground.
Kochi
It doesn’t stop here. Sachin has had a special affection for the ground in Kochi as well when we talk about his magic with the ball. He has clinched 10 wickets in 4 ODIs he played at Kochi at an average of 14.8 with two 5-wicket hauls (only Indian to take two 5-fors at a venue in ODIs).
