Cricketers glorify Rohit Sharma for his 3rd ODI double ton
Rohit was unbeaten until the end of 50 overs and walked back with 208 runs in his account from 153 balls on his 2nd wedding anniversary.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma rued the missed chances in the first ODI and coming into the second game he was determined to mend things. They were asked to bat first once again on a foggy morning in Mohali. But what transpired wasn’t something the Sri Lankans could’ve prepared for as Rohit attacked, ripped and mutilated their bowling attack to score his third ODI double ton.
He took the strike and played a maiden in the first over while his partner Shikhar Dhawan was at his aggressive best hitting the ball out of the middle of the bat from the onset. Rohit took his time and let his partners hold charge till he got to his hundred. He was nowhere close to the strike rate of 100 to the mark, as he touched triple figures in 115 balls.
What transpired thereafter was a massacre as he annihilated the bowlers in the last part of his innings to get to the second hundred in just 36 balls. Rohit jumped in the air and pumped his bat up to celebrate his third double century in One-Day International cricket. He stroked as many as 13 boundaries most of which were hit in the first half of the knock while it was more of a six-hitting show in the second as he plundered a dozen sixes.
The bowlers had no answer to the decimation as he knocked them all around and over the ropes much deep into the stands. While the square boundaries at Mohali are huge all of his shots sailed all the way through and landed amongst the spectators. First Dhawan hit a fifty and so did Shreyas Iyer as they had a 100 and 200 runs partnerships respectively.
Rohit was unbeaten until the end of 50 overs and walked back with 208 runs in his account from 153 balls on his 2nd wedding anniversary. The cricketing world was in awe as the Hit Man achieved yet another unbelievable milestone.
