Cricketing Trends on Social Media today
Here's how the cricketers spent their day on Twitter and Instagram today.
The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. Most of the talks were regarding the second day’s play between India and England at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, also known as the Chepauk. It was another tough day at the office for the Indian team, who had to work very hard to pick wickets. Joe Root, the English skipper again hogged the limelight as he notched his second double century in the space of a month.
After his partnership with Dominic Sibley, he put on 124 runs along with Ben Stokes. Root celebrated his 100th Test with a double ton and he has put the Three Lions on the drivers’ seat. He went on to scored 218 runs off 377 balls with the help of 19 fours and two sixes. It was left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem, who trapped him plumb in front to cut short his stay in the middle. Root took the Decision Review System (DRS), but the visiting team ended up losing it.
Siddarth Kaul, the Punjab fast bowler, reckons that bowling is a form of therapy for him. Kaul was a part of the Punjab team in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. He also played in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). S Sreesanth celebrated his birthday and he got wishes.
