Cricketing Trends on Social Media today

After a Ramadan which was marred by social distancing and lockdown due to COVID-19 outbreak, people across the world celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr and Twitter erupted with wishes on the occasion. Celebratory wishes flooded Twitter in no time as lakhs of Eid 2020 wishes surfaced across the micro-blogging website. Many players also extended wishes to their fans and fellow teammates.

Several players even shared pictures with their families while celebrating Eid. Former and current India players including Irfan Pathan, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Mohammad Kaif and many others passed on Eid 2020 wishes.

Shami shared the photo of mutton biryani and kheer and assured Shastri that it will be delivered to his house soon. Shastri, in reply, said that the whole team will soon eat these delicacies together after the COVID-19 outbreak subsides.

Apart from all the celebratory tweets, Twitter was also filled with condolence messages for Balbir Singh Sr. He was a three-time Olympic gold medallist left Indian fans in shock as he breathed his last on Monday. Many members of the cricket fraternity shared their sorrow over the demise of the hockey legend.

Members of the sports fraternity were left stunned by the demise of Balbir Singh Sr and many prominent names like Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir paid tribute to the legend. Team India head coach Ravi Shastri termed him as ‘A true giant and half in his field’ while consoling his demise.
