Cricketing Trends on Social Media today
Here is how the cricketers spent their day on Twitter and Instagram today.
The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. Austalia is currently involved in the 2nd Test against New Zealand of the three-match series at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. Today, Neil Wagner, the left-arm pacer became the 2nd quickest bowler to take 200 wickets after Richard Hadlee. He achieved this milestone in 46th appearance in the longer format. However, the hosts have taken a mammoth lead of 456 runs in the Boxing Day Test at the end of Day 3.
On the other hand in Big Bash League, a match between Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers went to the Super over. But, in the nail-biting encounter, Sixers won the game by one run and grabbed two important points in the tournament. Now they are leading the table with six points in their five outings.
England and South Africa are currently playing the series opener of the four-match Test series in Centurion. The hosts’ bowlers have certainly hit back with brilliant performances as they dismissed the heavy-duty line up at a lowly score of 181 in the first innings. And, after witnessing such a poor show, the former cricketers went on to criticise England cricket team. Moreover, Michael Vaughan said that Joe Root and Co. should admit the fact that they have some big problems when it comes to playing in the longer format.
