Cricketing Trends on Social Media today
Here's how the fraternity spent the day on social media platforms.
The cricketing trends on social media revolved around different events as the fraternity tweeted about it. Sri Lanka and Bangladesh faced each other in the second of the three-match ODI series where Mushfiqur Rahim played a fighting knock of 98 runs but missed out on a ton despite remaining unbeaten until the end. Parvez Mahroof and Russel Arnold had some great fun in the commentary box taking a dig at each other.
Jonty Rhodes has reportedly applied for the fielding coach position for Team India. He shares a good rapport with the current crop of the Indian cricketer. Shikhar Dhawan put that on display by wishing him a belated birthday on social media. Meanwhile, Sikandar Raza hoped that Zimbabwe’s suspension will get over soon after a fan thought that they won’t be able to play in the T20 World Cup qualifier tournament later this year.
Manpreet Gony played a match-winning knock for the Toronto Nationals against the Edmonton Royals in the ongoing second edition of the Global T20 Canada. He smashed 33 runs off just 12 balls after coming in to bat at 124/6 chasing 192 and hit three sixes and as many fours during his stay in the middle. Jason Roy, on the other hand, felt blessed to receive his Test cap from Alastair Cook and was looking forward to the Ashes challenge.
