Cricketing Trends on Social Media today
Here's how the fraternity spent its day on social media platforms.
There were a couple of retirements, a great game of cricket and a couple of great occasions today. Thus, all the cricketing trends mainly revolved around these topics. India celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Kargil war victory – the Kargil Vijay Diwas. Rahul Chahar, Prithvi Shaw and Smriti Mandhana remembered the heroes who sacrificed their lives and paid tributes to them.
Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir announced his sudden retirement from Test cricket. While this came as a surprise to many, Azhar Mahmood and Azhar Ali congratulated the left-arm pacer for all his achievements in the format. Also, Sri Lanka’s legendary Lasith Malinga bowed out of ODI cricket after the first game against Bangladesh. Rangana Herath congratulated him on a wonderful career. Mahela Jayawardene reminisced the days when Malinga was an 18-year-old bowler who bowled to him in the nets. He shared an emotional message for the bowler.
Also, England completely dominated Ireland on the third day on the one-off Test match. Stuart Broad seemed to have enjoyed this victory while Naill O’Brien had some words of motivation for Ireland. Mohammad Kaif applauded the bowling efforts of Stuart Broad and Chris Woakes.
