Cricketing trends in social media today saw tweets coming from all around the globe. The tweets were mostly centric towards the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 2017 edition of the IPL got underway with the Sunrisers Hyderabad taking on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the season opener at Hyderabad. The Sunrisers Hyderabad beat the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the match and that rightly showed why the defending champions are such a settled side.
Kevin Pietersen loved his first stint at the IPL commentary and is looking forward to next match at Pune. Australian women’s team cricketer Lisa Sthalekar was also happy to reach just in time for the match. Sunrisers Hyderabad mentor VVS Laxman was delighted to have started on a winning note and congratulated the boys. Former Australian cricketer Shane Warne said he absolutely loves the IPL because of the love of the fans in India.
Meanwhile, James Faulkner shared a picture with Brendon McCullum as the two players share the dressing room for Gujarat Lions. Harbhajan Singh said that he is all geared up for the IPL and wished everyone all the luck. His Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma was busy watching the proceedings on the television as well. Ravichandran Ashwin looked very impressed with the performance of Ben Cutting.
Cutting played a handy cameo of 16 runs that came off just 6 deliveries. He later inflicted a very brilliant run out to send Kedar Jadhav packing. On the other hand, Pakistani cricketer Saeed Ajmal congratulated Misbah Ul Haq and Younis Khan for being inducted in the Wisden Almanack.
That said here we have a look at some of best tweets and other social media posts from today’s edition of cricketing trends:
