India’s terrific win over England by an innings and 36 runs was the biggest trending topic in the Twitter space today. Ravichandran Ashwin snapped another five-wicket haul to wrap up England for just 195 in the second innings to wrap up an easy win. As expected, congratulatory tweets poured in from various cricketers. VVS Laxman shared a video from the post-match scenes when Virat Kohli and Co were having a victory lap to thank the Wankhede crowd for their support.
Cricketers were also busy celebrating Yuvraj Singh’s birthday. The ‘Prince of Indian cricket’ turned 35th-year-old. Yuvi is currently going through a very pleasant time and recently got married last week to his long-time girlfriend Hazel Keech. The star all-rounder played key roles in India winning the World T20 in 2007 as well as the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Apart from the hundreds of fans, he also received greetings from former teammates Robin Uthappa, Harbhajan Singh, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar and Chris Gayle.
Kevin Pietersen was having a wonderful day at the golf course while Damien Martyn shared another throwback picture for his followers. The Australian cricketer seems to be really feeling nostalgic about his old Western Warriors days where he shared the dressing room with the legendary Adam Gilchrist. Pakistan fast bowler Umar Gul looked very impressed with Virat Kohli’s knock and appreciated his batting while expert Michael Vaughan summed up the entire India- England test in a tweet in the most logical way.
