2016 has been through a lot of cricketing action across the globe. The limited overs format has seen a great phase with some interesting games. While it started with the World T20 and ended with an extended dose of Test cricket. On the ODI front, most of the teams looked all poised to get their team combinations right for the Champions Trophy next year.
While some players have replicated their success with their explosive batting form, the bowlers have given the batsmen a run for their money with some ferocious bowling. David Warner (Australia)
The swashbuckling Australian opener David Warner has had a tremendous run in 2016. He hardly failed to produce a kickstart to the innings for his team and his strike rate of 105.47 is a proof of that. His hard hitting abilities have given Australia command over the opposition numerous times.
Also the Australian vice-captain, Warner has the highest run tally in ODIs this year with 1388 runs under his belt. He scored an amazing 7 centuries this year which is also an Australian record for most centuries in a calendar year and next only to Sachin Tendulkar’s 9 tons in 1998. With a staggering average of 63.09, David Warner walks into the XI as the opener.
