2016 has been through a lot of cricketing action across the globe. The limited overs format has seen a great phase with some interesting games. While it started with the World T20 and ended with an extended dose of Test cricket. On the ODI front, most of the teams looked all poised to get their team combinations right for the Champions Trophy next year.

While some players have replicated their success with their explosive batting form, the bowlers have given the batsmen a run for their money with some ferocious bowling. The swashbuckling Australian opener David Warner has had a tremendous run in 2016. He hardly failed to produce a kickstart to the innings for his team and his strike rate of 105.47 is a proof of that. His hard hitting abilities have given Australia command over the opposition numerous times.

Also the Australian vice-captain, Warner has the highest run tally in ODIs this year with 1388 runs under his belt. He scored an amazing 7 centuries this year which is also an Australian record for most centuries in a calendar year and next only to Sachin Tendulkar&#8217;s 9 tons in 1998. With a staggering average of 63.09, David Warner walks into the XI as the opener.

Quinton de Kock has always been known as a fearless striker of the ball. Also, his glovework behind the stumps has been handy, making him a reliable player for the Proteas. The wicketkeeper-batsman also won the ICC ODI cricketer of the year award for his consistent performance during the qualification period of the ICC.

The elegant left-hander has scored 857 runs this year at a stupendous average of 57.13. Moreover, he has scored runs at a splendid pace with a strike rate of 108.61, turning matches in South Africa&#8217;s favour with his prodigious hitting. All these factors make de Kock a suitable choice as an opener and Warner&#8217;s partner in the XI.

Years keep passing by and Virat Kohli keeps getting even better. His reputation as a tough guy and fiercely talented cricketer has remained the same over the years. Kohli has emerged as the mainstay of Indian batting lineup. No target on the board seems unachievable when this man takes the strike.

In 7 out of the 10 matches played he batted in this year, he has registered fifty plus scores. With the persistence he has achieved, he has set batting standards to a level that is probably unmatchable. At a phenomenal average of 92.37, Kohli has managed to aggregate 739 runs this year. A marvel at his game, there cannot be a better contender than him at the No.3 spot.

The stylish England batsman has had a meteoric rise in international cricket. The 25-year-old has continued to excel in 2016 as well translating his undoubted class from the traditional format to the limited overs format. He has proved his valour as a promising youngster and is also seen as a future prospect as England captain.

At a stunning average of 61.23, Joe Root has compiled 796 runs this year. He has been a pillar for England in the middle order and stepped up every time his team has required a special effort from him. He stands right at the top of our middle order.

A youngster who has shown promising signs in his early days, Dinesh Chandimal has failed to fade in the limelight. Ever since the departure of the Sri Lankan stalwarts like Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara, Chandimal has managed to carry the burden on his shoulders and has excelled as well.

Leading the Aussie pace attack, the left-arm pacer has earmarked success at a very young age and is still raring to go. Ever since Mitchell Johnson&#8217;s retirement, he has been the leader of the pack for Australia. Over the years, Trent Boult has enhanced his reputation by proving to be a significant threat to the batsmen. With his brilliance with the ball, the left-arm pacer impressed many with his heroics in last year&#8217;s World Cup and has continued to do the same in 2016 as well. Rising above ranks in the Kiwi rooster, his bowling has drawn comparisons with the great Shane Bond.

With 25 wickets at a sumptuous average of 25, the Kiwi speedster has dazzled the batsmen around the world with his bowling. His ability to swing the ball both ways has churned a lot of wickets for him. Boult and Starc form a lethal combination for in the bowling lineup.

Armed with an unorthodox action, Jasprit Bumrah has managed to grab many eyeballs in his debut year. His ability to throw in yorkers at the death and bowl tight overs at that stage of the game has left the batsmen who have struggled to pick him.

He has bagged 17 wickets in just 8 games. What&#8217;s also exciting is the fact that he holds an outstanding bowling average of 14.64 this year. Bumrah&#8217;s economy rate of 3.63 has also been breathtaking. The 21-year-old has already shown traits of a great fast bowler and could well be the solution to Indian death bowling woes in the future.

<p>The swashbuckling Australian opener David Warner has had a tremendous run in 2016. He hardly failed to produce a kickstart to the innings for his team and his strike rate of 105.47 is a proof of that. His hard hitting abilities have given Australia command over the opposition numerous times.</p>
<p>Also the Australian vice-captain, Warner has the highest run tally in ODIs this year with 1388 runs under his belt. He scored an amazing 7 centuries this year which is also an Australian record for most centuries in a calendar year and next only to Sachin Tendulkar&#8217;s 9 tons in 1998. With a staggering average of 63.09, David Warner walks into the XI as the opener.</p>

<p>Quinton de Kock has always been known as a fearless striker of the ball. Also, his glovework behind the stumps has been handy, making him a reliable player for the Proteas. The wicketkeeper-batsman also won the ICC ODI cricketer of the year award for his consistent performance during the qualification period of the ICC.</p>
<p>The elegant left-hander has scored 857 runs this year at a stupendous average of 57.13. Moreover, he has scored runs at a splendid pace with a strike rate of 108.61, turning matches in South Africa&#8217;s favour with his prodigious hitting. All these factors make de Kock a suitable choice as an opener and Warner&#8217;s partner in the XI.</p>

Kohli has emerged as the mainstay of Indian batting lineup. No target on the board seems unachievable when this man takes the strike.</p>
<p>In 7 out of the 10 matches played he batted in this year, he has registered fifty plus scores. With the persistence he has achieved, he has set batting standards to a level that is probably unmatchable. At a phenomenal average of 92.37, Kohli has managed to aggregate 739 runs this year. A marvel at his game, there cannot be a better contender than him at the No.3 spot.</p>

<p>The stylish England batsman has had a meteoric rise in international cricket. The 25-year-old has continued to excel in 2016 as well translating his undoubted class from the traditional format to the limited overs format. He has proved his valour as a promising youngster and is also seen as a future prospect as England captain.</p>
<p>At a stunning average of 61.23, Joe Root has compiled 796 runs this year. He has been a pillar for England in the middle order and stepped up every time his team has required a special effort from him. He stands right at the top of our middle order.</p>

<p>Jos Buttler has shot to prominence in the English side with his aggressive batting in the lower order. He can finish games from crunch situations with plenty of pinch-hitting to offer. His strike rate this year has been close to 130 which proves what an asset he has been for England throughout the year.</p>
<p>Boasting of a terrific average of 57.30, Buttler has had an aggregate of 573 runs this year. He has also donned the wicketkeeping responsibilities of England quite well. Very few batsmen in the world at the moment can be as destructive as him and that surely calls for a spot at No.5 in the best XI.</p>

<p>A youngster who has shown promising signs in his early days, Dinesh Chandimal has failed to fade in the limelight. Ever since the departure of the Sri Lankan stalwarts like Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara, Chandimal has managed to carry the burden on his shoulders and has excelled as well.</p>
<p>While Sri Lanka haven&#8217;t had a great year, he has continued to impress maintaining an average of 59.63 this year. He has guided the Sri Lankan middle order time and again and stood as a lone warrior numerous times for the team. With a total of 656 runs this year, he rightfully grabs the No.6 spot.</p>
