#2 Hashim Amla
If there is anyone in the cricketing fraternity who has literally owned 50-over cricket, that has to be South Africa’s Hashim Amla. A few years ago, he was regarded as a Test specialist and no one would have thought he would be so successful in ODIs. But Amla proved everyone wrong and adjusted his game to suit the needs of the format.
In 164 matches, he has scored 7535 runs at an astonishing average of 50.23. The 34-year-old has a strike rate of 88.9 which is quite amazing. He is also the fastest to 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000 and 7000 runs in the history of ODIs. He may not end up amongst the leading run-scorers of the game but he will certainly be counted as one of the best to have ever graced the game of cricket.
