The International Cricket Council (ICC) has made quite a few changes in its constitution, and also revised the financial models of the cricket boards affiliated to it. And as per latest news, Cricket South Africa (CSA) has agreed to the new constitution, as well as the new financial model. The ICC held several meetings in England after the Champions Trophy, which was attended by members of all affiliated boards.

Few of the new changes made by the ICC were the inclusion of DRS in T20s, giving umpires the authority to give a send-off to a player on grounds of unacceptable misconduct, and also putting a restriction on bat sizes. Also, Ireland and Afghanistan, the two teams that have made great strides in international cricket in the past one year, were given Test statuses. New financial models were revised to make sure that the business is in line with accepted standards of corporate governance.

“What was particularly important is the fact that all the changes were accepted unanimously by members and this show of unity is very pleasing. There is also a much better model in terms of the share of finances to ICC members. I also wish to take this opportunity to thank Shashank Manohar for the amazing work done over the past while and to congratulate Imran Khwaja on his election as the ICC Deputy Chairman.” CSA president Chris Nenzani was quoted as saying by sport24.

BCCI to receive a massive sum from ICC

Nenzani also took the opportunity to congratulate Ireland and Afghanistan on receiving Test statuses.  “On behalf of all South African cricketer stakeholders and fans I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Afghanistan and Ireland as Full Members,” he concluded.

As per cricketcountry.com, ICC will give BCCI USD 405 million as per decided revenue sharing model. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) will be given 143 million dollars while Zimbabwe Cricket board an amount of 94 million dollars. All the rest of the boards will receive 132 million dollars each. This model was passed by a vote of 13 to 1.
