Chennai Super Kings (CSK), one of the most consistent sides of the IPL, flagged off their journey this season with an emphatic win against defending champions Mumbai Indians. However, the Chennai side slumped in their next two games against Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals.

Chasing a challenging total on both occasions, the CSK batting force, in absence of Ambati Rayudu, succumbed to the pressure. On both the occasions, Dhoni’s men failed to match with the required run rate, resulting in their annihilation.

After losing two games on the trot, CSK fans have been asking for the return of their vice-captain– Suresh Raina. The left-hander had stunned everyone by pulling out of the tournament just days before its commencement. Owing to CSK’s woeful form, fans have been realizing Raina’s worth in their batting unit.

Responding to the demand of fans to bring back ‘Chinna Thala’, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has made it clear that it would be impossible for the franchise. Raina had made himself unavailable and the management has to respect his decision and space, according to Viswanathan.

I can assure them that we will bounce back strongly: CSK CEO

“See, we cannot look at Raina because he made himself unavailable and we respect his decision and his space. We are not thinking about it,” he said as quoted by Business World.

When asked about CSK’s recent form, Viswanathan ensured that the team will bounce back strongly and the smiles will be back soon. He also pointed out that Ambati Rayudu’s return in the next game help in bolstering the CSK batting unit. After a much-needed break of six days, the Chennai side will next lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad on October 2 in Dubai.

“We have been blessed with some of the best fans in the cricketing world and I can assure them that we will bounce back strongly. It is a game and you have your good days and bad days. But the boys know what they need to do and the smiles will be back. Like I told you last day (before the Delhi Capitals game), he would miss one game at worst. He is fit and ready for the next game,” Viswanathan further said.
