Chennai Super Kings (CSK), desperate for their first two points in IPL 2022, faced the power-hitting Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 11th match of the season. Ravindra Jadeja finally won his first toss as the captain of the team and had no hesitation in bowling first. The defending champions had to bowl well though in order to restrict the opposition to a decent total.
CSK started well to send back Mayank Agarwal and Bhanuka Rajapaksa early in the innings. But the batters with hitting skills keep coming in the PBKS’ line-up and Liam Livingstone got stuck into their new-ball pacer Mukesh Choudhary in the fifth over of the innings, smashing him for 26 runs.
It all started with a massive six that was delivered in the slot to Livingstone by the bowler. The batter just moved his front leg out of the way and whacked the ball disdainfully over mid-wicket for a huge 108-metre six. The distance clearly signifies the power the England cricketer had put behind the shot.

Livingstone broke his own record of longest sixes in IPL 2022
This is only the third match of PBKS this season and Liam Livingstone already boasts of the two longest sixes. Earlier, in one of the games he had smacked a massive 105-metre maximum. Not only he, his England teammate Jos Buttler is also bossing the IPL, having hit a 101-metre six. Ishan Kishan is the next on the list with a 98-metre six, having scored two fifties so far.
Meanwhile, the young CSK bowler Mukesh lost his line completely after going for a massive six early in the over and Livingstone just smacked him with utter disdain for three fours later. The man also hit a six off the last ball to make it 26 off the over which gave the much-needed momentum to PBKS as they were in trouble. Livingstone also scored a brilliant fifty and got out for 60 off just 32 balls with five fours and as many sixes.
