CSK have a dominant record over SRH with 14 victories in 20 IPL matches
When Chennai Super Kings made their comeback in IPL in the 2018 season, it was the Sunrisers Hyderabad team whom they beat in the finals to lift the trophy. CSK had earlier defeated SRH in both the league games and then the first qualifier. In IPL history so far, both teams have been very consistent in their performance.
CSK holds the record for playing most finals in the tournament, while SRH, except for the last two seasons, have qualified for the playoffs in each of the seasons since 2016. The Men in Yellow beat the Orange Army in the only league meeting in IPL 2023.

In IPL history so far, both teams have played 20 games against each other in which CSK have completely dominated the SRH team winning 14 games. In the 2018 season, SRH and CSK met four times, and MS Dhoni’s men emerged victorious on every occasion.

In all the matches held between the two teams, Kane Williamson has scored the most runs (417) followed by David Warner (405) and Ruturaj Gaikwad(394). In the IPL 2018 final, Shane Watson smashed a magnificent century against SRH. Among the bowlers, Dwayne Bravo has been the most successful player with 18 wickets to his name, Bhuvneshwar Kumar comes second with 11, followed by Rashid Khan, Deepak Chahar and T Natarajan (10 each).
Hyderabad vs Chennai Last Meeting:
The teams last met in match no. 46 of IPL 2024 which was held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Being put in to bat, CSK made full use of the opportunity with skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad's 98 being ably supported by a fifty from Daryl Mitchell and a cameo from Shivam Dube. Tushar Deshpande then took three of his four wickets in the powerplay to leave SRH crumbling and playing catch up for the rest of the game as they succumbed to a 78-run loss.
