Irfan Pathan expects an India v Australia final for the Champions Trophy 2017.
Veteran Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has recently voiced his opinions on the upcoming edition of the Champions Trophy. Pathan, who was a part of the winning squad of the 2013 edition of the tournament, noted that team India will have a very good chance of defending their title this time around. Trying to cite reasons for the same, the Baroda all-rounder was pin point with his observation.
As per the quotes in Sportskeeda, Irfan Pathan showered praises on the Indian bowling attack. This is not the first time he came up with words of praise for the Indian bowlers. Earlier, he had lauded the Indian and the Australian team to be the favorites for the tournament this year. He reiterated the same as he claimed that team India has one of the top 3 bowling attacks in the tournament.
”At this time, England can offer assistance to the bowlers and I believe that India has one of the top 3 bowling attacks in the tournament and this is a very good way to enter the tournament. A team with a solid bowling attack has a great chance of winning the Champions Trophy,” quoted Irfan Pathan.

He further added that the bowling armory certainly guarantees India a place in the finals. He also tipped the Australian pace attack as the one that could be threatening on a given day. Irfan Pathan expects an India v Australia final for the Champions Trophy 2017.
“India has very good bowling attack and I believe they can make it to the finals. Also, Australia have a brilliant pace attack and if the bowlers are fit and raring to go, an India-Australia final cannot be ruled out,” he conceded.
India’s pace bowling quartet
India has a problem of plenty in the bowling department. Mohammad Shami has been India’s premier pacer and showed his class with 3 wickets to his name in the warm-up game against New Zealand. Jasprit Bumrah has evolved as one of the top death overs bowlers in the recent times. Umesh Yadav has been succeeding with both new and the old ball. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also bagged a three-for against New Zealand and was the winner of the Purple Cap at the IPL this year.
