The No.8 ranked side, Pakistan, recovered well from a huge loss against India to stun the World No.1 ODI side, South Africa. After losing the toss, the Pakistani team restricted the South Africans to a mere 219/8, a total which wasn’t possible without a fighting 75* by David Miller. Debutant Fakhar Zaman gave them a blistering start which helped them stay ahead on the Duckworth-Lewis Stern par score.

Morne Morkel tried to keep South Africa in the game with 3/18 in his 7 overs but Shoaib Malik and Babar Azam ensured they were 19 runs ahead of the par score after 27 overs just when rain interrupted the game. With this win, Pakistan have spiced up Group B for all the four teams.
