Romanian cult hero Pavel Florin is now all set to play in Australia after the decision to refuse his visa application was overturned. Florin had become a worldwide sensation after his love for cricket captured the attention of the entire cricket world earlier this year. Florin, who is the president of the Cluj Cricket Club in Romania and a professional bodyguard, made everyone his fan with his passion for cricket.
The Transylvanian cricketer will now have a chance to make more fans in Australia as he will feature in a fifth XI game for Surrey Hills Cricket Club in Melbourne on Sunday. Earlier this week, it was revealed that Florin had his visa application rejected by the Department of Home Affairs.
He himself took to Twitter to reveal the disappointing news. But he later confirmed that decision was overturned and thus he would travel to Australia, writing, “The Departament of Home Affair change the decision and thank you for that. But I want to believe that whole this good peaple ho supported me in last day make this possible They are my army and my family I take my bat and whit the first flight i come to Australia”

Club excited to welcome Pavel Florin
Surrey Hills Cricket Club, meanwhile, cannot wait to welcome the Romanian hero. Club president Mal Campbell expressed his delight over the decision of allowing Pavel Florin to visit Australia. He said the decision to overturn the initial decision has helped the game.
“We’re absolutely delighted the Department of Home Affairs has been so flexible and responsive in reversing its decision,” Campbell was quoted as saying by The Guardian. “In doing that, they have helped the game, which is the purpose of this visit.”
The club has been trying to bring Florin to Melbourne from the last four months. The Melbourne-based outfit wants to promote him as a role model for younger players of the game. Florin is expected to captain the side in the exhibition match on Sunday.
“We just want kids to enjoy playing the game and love cricket, so we thought he was a wonderful ambassador for that approach to the game,” Campbell said.
