'Cup ganda hai' - Virat Kohli trolls KL Rahul on his latest coffee drinking picture
The social media fans were quick to remind Rahul about the controversial chapter of 'Koffee with Karan.'
There is not a lot that the players are engaging themselves in during this lockdown period. However, their social media profiles have been filled with posts about how they are spending their lockdown. KL Rahul is one of the Indian cricket stars who is quite active on social media and he has been uploading pictures of his day to day life.
On Monday, Rahul uploaded a really good picture of him on his official Instagram handle. In the picture, the Karnataka batsman was seen drinking coffee and expressing his love for the beverage. After the cricketer uploaded this picture, some of his fans started reminding of the controversial episode of ‘Koffee with Karan’, which had happened in January 2019.
Rahul went through a dreadful time after he appeared in the popular chat show. He had featured on the show with his teammate from the Indian team Hardik Pandya. After the show aired on television, several people raised their voice against some of the comments which were made on the show by the two players. People objected calling their comments “misogynistic” and “sexist.”
KL Rahul was last seen in action during India’s NZ tour
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) even stopped the duo from appearing some of the matches during the Australia tour. They were called back home and an investigation was launched. After clearing that, the two players were allowed to play again for India.
Rahul’s latest post reminded people of the entire episode. However, the Indian captain took a different jibe at the cricketer. He tried to tease the cricketer by saying that, “Cup ganda hai.” After reading this comment from the Indian captain, Rahul was quick to comment. He wrote as a reply, “lekin dil saaf hain.”
The two were seen in action last time during India’s tour of New Zealand earlier this year. That series was the last one which India played. After returning home, their series against South Africa was cancelled due to COVID-19. The Indian has not yet started their training as the travel restrictions haven’t been lifted properly yet.
India’s next series which has been scheduled is against Australia in Down Under. The two nations will face each other in three T20Is, four Tests and three ODIs.
