Veteran Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has left his IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders to join the national side. Team Bangladesh is scheduled to attend a preparatory camp in England and then participate in the tri-series in Ireland. The tri-series, that involves New Zealand and Ireland as the other two teams, will be their best chance to prepare before heading for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

Shakib Al Hasan is a happy man at the moment and is pleased with the team combinations. As per the quotes in thedailystar.net, the all-rounder quipped that the current lot Bangladeshi players in the national setup is the best that they have had in the recent times. He cited that their recent performances is a testimony of how good the team has been.

Bangladesh have had a very good run at home in the recent times. Also, they drew the Test, ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka recently. Hence, the team morale is sky high at the moment and they hope to excel in the ICC mega event as well.

“We have a few good batsmen, good pacers, and good spinners too. I feel this team of ours is the best so far. I don’t have any complaints. Our cricket is on the right track. Our performance in the last two years is a testimony to that fact,” quoted Shakib Al Hasan.

Talking about their pool in the Champions Trophy, Shakib conceded that they are in a tough group. They will start their campaign against the hosts England in the tournament opener on June 1. Despite being in a tough space, he is backing the team to do well.

“I feel our group is more tough. All teams are good but Australia, England are tough opponents. South Africa always do well. We are confident of doing well in a world event so that people remember our show,” he quoted.
