Dale Steyn sidelined while Ishant Sharma comes back for the second Test match: Having served a one-Test suspension, India’s pace bowler Ishant Sharma is all set to have a go at the South African batting line-up and is likely to replace Umesh Yadav in the playing XI for the second cricket Test, starting Saturday.

However Dale Steyn, the South African fast bowler has been ruled out of the second Test match at Bangalore. Dale Steyn has failed to recover from a groin injury sustained in the previous Test match at Mohali; therefore sidelined for tomorrow’s game.

Kyle Abbott, who was brought in following Vernon Philander’s injury on Thursday (November 12), could fill in for the injury-hit fast bowler Steyn, captain Hashim Amla said in his pre-match press conference.

Vernon Philander, who sustained an injury after twisting his left ankle during a warm-up football game is set to miss the rest of the series.

Cricket South Africa had tweeted about Steyn’s groin problem before the hosts came out to bat in their second innings. “Dale Steyn is off the field due to a tight right groin. He is unlikely to take the field today as a precaution,” CSA wrote on its twitter handle.

South Africa will take on host India in the second Test match of the 4-match series in Bangalore on 14th November.
