Steven Smith has been going through a purple patch for Australia, especially in Test cricket. The Sydney-born cricketer has hemorrhaged runs the longest version of the game and has subsequently been showered with accolades and praises from the cricketing fraternity. To multiply his delight, he has also been retained by the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the eleventh season of the Indian Premier League.
The cricketer has notched a mind-boggling 1305 runs in 2017 at a staggering average of 81.56 which included six centuries against potent bowling attacks. The Aussie has recently been crowned as the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year and became the third cricketer after Michael Clarke and Ricky Pointing to be anointed with the crown on multiple occasions.
The Aussie skipper also bagged the Hublot Test Player of the Year at the annual Alan Border Medal ceremony in Melbourne. A poling section was conducted where his teammates, umpires, and representatives from the media were involved in an aggressive spell of bidding. Smith eventually finished with 32 points ahead of Nathan Lyon (26 points) and David Warner (15 points).
Dani Wills- Smith’s lady love
Apart from his cricket, Smith also has a gorgeous fiancée in Dani Wills, a law student. The couple got to know each other in a bar at Sydney during the opening season of the Big Bash League in Sydney. Last year, the Aussie cricketer proposed his 26-year girlfriend standing on Manhattan’s Top of the Rock at the Rockefeller Centre.
Every sportsperson returns home after hectic international assignments and Steve Smith is no different. However, Wills revealed what her beau does after returning from any tour. In a recent interaction with the awards-night, she mentioned about Smith’s job after coming back home “Smith clears all the rubbish stacked inside the house.” She said to the media.
